Now A Days

March 9th turned out to be a wonderful day. It was near 80 and I golfed and it was also the 1st Monday of Daylight Savings Time.

Golf was not too good but not too bad, 96. Should have been better but "Stuff" Happens.

We grilled out this evening and it was very nice and tasty. The 2 guys working in the basement are almost done and then we will have a Weather Safe Room. It will also serve as a small bedroom for when family visits. We will probably make it into a sitting room for quiet reading with a Futon that converts to a bed.

I have been finding cool clip art and saving it . If i can figure how to insert it I will do it.

Have a great day!

Winter returned - Damn It!

It was nice last week. I played golf, scored good and enjoyed being out. Then Mr. Cold Butt winter came back again. I still golfed but with the temp about 52 degrees and a noticeable breeze it was kinda raw and so was my score.

Mom and I head for Durham this week and the weather will be "Not Warm" but that's OK we will enjoy seeing Phil and Duke. Maybe Lucky will come with, I wish his name was tunsis the driving Dog, then Mom and I could sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Hopefully I will have my New ACER Aspire One for the trip. If it gets here tomorrow I will have time to at least charge the battery and see if I can get on the Network. I will load up Office and a few more things. I Don't want to take up Phil's time with it.

So how is your pre Lenten time going for you?

1st Press Conference

Mr. Obama could use some training on how to simply answer a question. He did the typical tap dance on tough topics but good Lord he ran on and on and circled back to his reason for the press conference, his stimulus plan.

I expected and hoped for better.

Don't Say Anything

I saw the below in another blog and thought it interesting.

Oxford complied a list of the top most irritating phrases. I thought this list was funny and pretty interesting. I am definitely guilty of using some of these regularly. This makes me laugh because I didn't realize how annoying and overused these phrases are until now.

1 - At the end of the day

2 - Fairly unique

3 - I personally

4 - At this moment in time

5 - With all due respect

6 - Absolutely

7 - It's a nightmare

8 - Shouldn't of

9 - 24/7

10 - It's not rocket science

I would add "to be honest", "no offense but", and "the truth of the matter is". Any more you would like to add?

Inaugaration Eve

Well tomorrow we get a New President.. I can't imagine a tougher job, Well maybe suicide bomber, but being President of the United States even in great times is a difficult job but during this time of economic problems, The Middle East, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Can't forget the morons in North Korea and Iran and long term China and possibly the reborn Russia.

There are so many other things like unemployment, Balance of Trade, lack of domestic Manufacturing, Rising National debt, Health Care. Everyone who has a job should be paying taxes and this brings us into how can the US control illegal immigration? I know there is no easy answer but it can't go unaddressed for the well being of the country and people who want to work. What about energy, specifically OIL. Is the answer solar, wind, bio fuels? Obviously we could add to the supply by drilling in Alaska and I cannot believe that it is such a terrible environmental problem. If I were President I would mandate the old 55 MPH and demand the limit be enforced. I would demand that cars become much more fuel efficient. How about no car built here or imported allowed to get less than 30 MPG.

So what do you think? What does President Obama have to do and do quickly? What is the answer to energy?

US AIRWAYS

Saw a really cool News Special today of a US Air A320 in the Hudson River. This pilot must have blessed to be able to decide what to do and then have the ability to pull it off and no one gets killed.

I wonder what the passengers were thinking as this event was playing out. A quick act of contrition, an Ah Shit!, a tear and a Why Me?

What do think you would have thought during those maybe 2 minutes from everything is cool to everything is coming apart?

Dawgs

Here we go again. Losing the heart of a team to the NFL Dollar Call. We've talked about it but do you think can be done to stop players from going to the draft? Perhaps Red Shirt them in the NFL and limit the signing bonus to anyone who fails to graduate college.
